Everyone get ready for another URL shortening service which has started its functionalities in a field which is flooded with so much competition and it is really hard to survive in this condition but Brinkster has took this challenge and rolled out its URL shortener br.st

Br.st is a URL shortener service which alongwith its basic functionality allows you to track your links in real-time and that also in your local time-zone. It also lets you post shortened link to 10 different social networks sites like Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, FriendFeed etc. without logging in. It also checks destination link with Google Safebrowsing.

Br.st also has bookmarklets not only for browser but also for iPhone which supports Tweetie and Twitterific apps. Its real-time statistics provide you brief information about your link i.e. No. of clicks, Referrers, Locations and it only tracks human traffic. Br.st also provides API for developers.

The design and look of the site is really cool and it provides a pleasant feel to your eyes; though, as I mention earlier that this field is full of competition, now let’s see how long br.st will survive or it will get burst before getting its destination.

Screenr: Screencasting Tool for Twitter

I have seen and reviewed quite some twitter tools, but one which I am going to review today is a bit new in this niche. Screenr which launched yesterday is a screen casting tool powered by twitter’s oAuth system which allows you to post your recorded screencast on your twitter account easily.

Recording your screen with Screenr is really too simple just login there using your twitter credentials and then hit the Record button, you will prompt there to a new page where Screenr will run right from within your browser. Once you have recorded video you can tweet it or you can simple save it there and then manually tweet it later.

Screenr allows you to record videos up to 5 minutes and it also gives you facility to embed your record video on your blog/website or upload it directly you YouTube or simply just download it as MP4 file for your iPhone or Desktop.

So far, Screenr looks quite promising and could give a tough competition to its competitor by reason of its twitter integration feature which you can also say is the USP of this site.

yfrog, TwitPic Alternative By ImageShack

Twitter is a micro blogging site which lets you update your status within 140 character limit, but there are some addons services which lets you post more then just text on twitter, one of such service is twitpic which can be used to post pictures on twitter.

ImageShack which is one of the known name of image hosting site has came up with another useful service named yfrog. yfrog is a similar site as twitpic through which you can post pictures and images on your twitter account.

To post an image, browse it from your PC or upload from a URL, enter your message and twitter account credentials and submit it. After uploading picture it will give you some normal embed codes and thumbnail codes aswell, can be seen here.

Create Disposable Chatrooms With TinyChat

While the internet is getting more socialize and web 2.0 is expanding, we are observing new and innovative concepts of websites. A similar service is going to discussed by me in this post.

TinyChat is another venture by TinyPaste and iOJ developers. TinyChat is a disposable chat service which you can create to start a text based chat session.

Creating a chat room with TinyChat does not require and registration and you can simple create a chat room with a single click, You can also propagate your created chat room by posting chat room link as a tweet when you login with your twitter account after creating chat room.

Twitter is a great service to get connected with your friends and colleagues and update them about “what are you doing”, it is no less than an addiction. So, making this service more useful I have come up with a great tool which allows you to use Twitter while checking email on Gmail.

As we all know that Gmail has a very good feature called Labs, which adds usability power to your Gmail account by adding various addon features. Today’s trick is regarding to that Gmail labs feature using which you can embed twitter into your Gmail inbox.

How to use Twitter in Gmail:

1.    Go to Settings -> Labs in your Gmail account and Enable “Add any gadget by URL” feature.
2.    Now Go to Settings -> Gadgets
3.    Enter “http://www.twittergadget.com/gadget_gmail.xml” in the URL box and click Add.
4.    It will embed twitter gadget in the left panel of your Gmail
5.    Now login to your twitter account and start using twitter.
