The latest Safari 5 release brings lots of new features while one of the most useful and productive feature amongst all is the new “Reader” implementation.

Google iPhone App gets Push Notification Support

Google has rolled out an update for its iPhone app which brings full push notification support for Mail and Calendar.

The push notifications can be setup for GMail aswell as for Google App accounts; the app also comes up with silent-time feature, which you can use to control when to show notifications.

Along with this push notification update Google Mobile app also gets real-time search results for Weather, Currency, Stocks and Flight Info, just type the keyword and it will show the corresponding info without even need to hit “Search”.

Google Mobile App update is up and live in the App Store now.

Finally Google Focuses Light on AdSense Revenue Share

Following recent controversies about privacy breaching by Google for so-called improvement of Google Maps and associated databases, now for greater transparency they are disclosing so far top secretly hold AdSense Revenue Share splitting ratios between them and website owners. Despite of several requests of large publishers the advertising giant until now maintained nothing about it.

According to official Adwords Blog, Google earns its maximum revenue from AdSense for content and AdSense for search. In case of AdSense for content the revenue are collected from the ads, which are embedded in key words at random. Whereas in AdSense for search the ads target the query words used for searching by adding an individual search engine inside the owner’s blog. At present for AdSense for content, the ratio of eCPM or Effective cost-per-thousand impressions between ad publisher and Google is 68 : 32. Meanwhile for AdSense for search the CPC or cost-per-click the ratio is 51 : 49. Besides these, Google collects revenue from many other means like AdSense for mobile applications, AdSense for feeds, and AdSense for games. However, they refuse to reveal revenue shares for these saying that it is in the process of learning in view of varieties and broad range of prices of yields of various production houses.

Nevertheless, there was an additional mistaken belief regarding serving fee levied by Google on ads before splitting of AdSense Revenue Share but Google authorities denied existence of any kind of such taxes.

Google TV and It’s Future

T.V or Internet, Which provides the ultimate range of entertainment to the viewer, is a huge debatable question. According to worldwide Internet Services Providers and Global T.V Market, with 1.67 billion of internet users compared to 1.13 billion households of T.V, internet is the largest entertainment medium in modern world. Still internet lacks some basis features like high quality viewing or uninterrupted live broadcasting facilities. Hence, to a next generation gadget-freak a perfect blending of both TV and internet in a single device would be the decisive meaning of entertainment. To manufacture such a device that can only be accomplished in science fiction till now, a joint collaboration of Google, Intel, and Sony has taken this ambitious project. So far the reports are coming Google will create application software and it will function as interface between hardware and chipset provided by Intel and broadcasting facilities of Sony TV sets. A modified version of MeeGo Linux operating system with the help of Adobe Flash 10.0 and HTML Web Browser will support the whole network.

According to their recent announcement in Google I/O conference, San Francisco; Google TV will have normal TV like features with browser facilities. That means one can search any kind of television channel, movie, songs, shows, websites or anything that can be visualized by just typing some key words in home screen! Furthermore, if anyone favors any particular channel he/she can add it to the bookmark in home screen to avoid daily searching hazards.

Viewing all these integrated features; one can easily speculate that the device will set a new trend of visualization. Very soon, Google TV will be seen in advanced Sony TV sets or in normal TVs with the help of set top boxes.

Android 2.2 Froyo a Brief Look

Since 23 September 2008, the official announcement of Android 1.0 every time the Google developers has appeared in the podium has given the world something beyond imagination. Now at 20 May 2010 in Google I/O, it is time for Android 2.2, aka Froyo.

According to Android 2.2 official video four enhanced features regarding speed, API and Services, Browser and Android Market will draw attention of buyers.

Addition of Dalvik VM, a JIT compiler tunes Android 2.2 approximately 2-5 folds faster than Android 2.1 OS in Nexus One.
With new API and Services any software developer can send legitimate massages to the Google server for specific APPs help and will get the essential settings in his/her phone. Provision of Application Backup API allows user to backup the previous data before installation of new APPs and an automatic restoration option if required. From Manage APP Settings, users can also chose the installing place between internal memory and microSD card and can change it at random. In addition, this new API allows users to connect internet through their computers by using Android 2.2 as portable Wi-Fi hotspot.
Use of V8 Java script searching engine optimizes the browsing speed of Android 2.2 2-3 times compared to Android 2.1.
Through Android Market, users can select auto-updating pattern at a time. There is an Application Error Reports option enabling users to send error reports to the Android developers for farther improvement.

Google Docs Gets File Storage

Google Docs team announced on their blog today that they will be launching storage service to Google Docs over the course of next few weeks.

You will then be able to upload any kind of file upto 250MB in cloud and can access it from anywhere, so no need to email large files now. All the users initially will get 1GB of free storage space in their accounts; if you want then you can buy extra space for just $0.25 per GB/year (which is not that costly).

So now making backup will be more easy and handy for users and they don’t need to take USB drives with themselves, all they need is an internet connection and a Google Docs account.

This will surely gonna entice users, which they were craving for so long.

The much anticipated Open Source Google Chrome OS has been announced by Google today. Later they initially buzz about it in July this year and has released it Source Code officially today, which is available for download to everyone.

Basically Chrome OS is a lightweight operating system which is initially targeted to netbook users to provide them faster and simple experience. Google Chrome OS is planned to officially launch in the second half of 2010.

Google sent gifts to 100,000 users in the shape of Google Wave invitation two days back and since then those who haven’t receive invitations have been wandering here and there on internet and checking different sites in the hope of somehow getting Google Wave beta invitation.

Those who have got beta invitations can invite other 8 of their friends or colleagues to test this extraordinary service and from my previous experience I can say that some generous users are always there who are kind enough to share beta invitations online. Leaked Screenshots Of Google Chrome OS

Since Google has announced its upcoming browser based OS back in July we have noticed lots of screenshots being claimed as leaked Google Chrome OS screenshots wandering on internet; however, no one exactly know about truth, either those screenshots have any credibility or they are just a fake one to distract users.

Today, I got mail from an anonymous guy who claimed to have some allegedly screenshots of upcoming Google Chrome OS and also did send me. Screenshots posted below are the ones sent by that guy, illustrates surely simple interface with a taskbar on top with a chrome logo on top left.

We can also see a slider like button on the middle left of screen which probably can be a program launcher or could be something else. In one of the screenshots below we can also witness the build no. of this OS which depicts to be 1.34.761

Gmail is really down!

Gmail is back now after 1.5 hours of outage but read below what actually happened.

You’re not alone because Gmail is actually down for 20-30 minutes (4 PM EST) now and people are receiving “502 Server Error” message. This downtime is also being faced by Google Apps Mail service users.

Gmail was also having some turbulence issue earlier today as well; thus, this downtime probably could be a reason of that issue.

Google has updated its official Gmail blog with a post regarding this downtime:

We know many of you are having trouble accessing Gmail right now — we are too, and we definitely feel your pain. We don’t usually post about minor issues here (the Apps status dashboard and the Gmail Help Center are usually where this kind of information goes). Because this is impacting so many of you, we wanted to let you know we’re currently looking into the issue and hope to have more info to share here shortly. If you have IMAP or POP set up already, you should be able to access your mail that way in the meantime. We’re terribly sorry for the inconvenience and will get Gmail back up and running as soon as possible.

Google has also updated its twitter status:

UPDATE: IMAP/POP servers are working for some users including myself.

UPDATE: Some of users can access Gmail intermittently though the issue is still not yet resolved.

UPDATE: Gmail is back now though users still facing delay on sending mails (5:50 PM EST)

Translate Google Docs Documents in 42 Languages

Google Docs team has rolled out a really nifty feature today which allows you to convert your documents into 42 different languages. Translation is done by the Google Translate technology which usually used to translate webpages as well.

To convert your document in your desired language first open that document in Google Docs then go to Tools menu and hover on Translate document option and iture today which allows you to convert your t will dropdown whole list of 42 languages in which you can translate your document then choose your desired language there. It will open a new window with translated version of your document, from there you can choose whether you want to replace translated version with original one or you want to make a new copy of document.

Google Chrome gets Bookmark Synchronization

Few days back I told you about Google planning to add bookmark synchronization in upcoming Google Chrome Dev release and earlier today Tim Steele the Software Engineer of Google Chrome confirmed the availability of bookmark sync on official Chromium blog.

The latest dev release of Google Chrome 4.0.201.1 allows you to sync bookmarks using your Google account and it is using same XMPP technology which is also being used in Google Talk.

To enable bookmark sync feature you have to start Google Chrome with –enable-sync command line flag. Then click on Wrench icon on top left and then choose “Sync my bookmarks” from dropdown menu and it will ask your Google credentials, once you enter those details Google Chrome will automatically sync your bookmarks.

Google Chrome Themes Gallery Launched with 29 Different Themes

About 11 months ago I shared with you some great looking Google Chrome themes, now right after 11 months Google has officially launched theme gallery for Google Chrome which is having some 29 different kinds of themes.

There are themes for different tastes and flavors and you can choose one as per your choice, but to install these themes you need to have latest version of Google Chrome 3.0 Beta or Google Chrome 3.0 Developer Preview.

If talk about quality of themes then speaking truly I am not so much impress with any of these themes and I’ll still stick on with default classic one.

In case you didn’t like any theme after installing and want to revert to default one then click on Wrench icon on top right and choose Options from the menu, then goto Personal Stuff tab and at the bottom there click on “Reset to default theme” button.

Google Chrome to get Bookmark Synchronization

Google Chrome is working really hard since its launch to get a yearning market share and is really proving it self as a tough competitor to Firefox and Internet Explorer which are the two pioneers in the industry.

Google Chrome team has always been working to implement innovative technology and unique features to improve users browsing experience and in this regard an update has been made by Tim Steele who is an engineer for Google Chrome, when he posted about an upcoming feature at Chromium Dev. discussion board, this feature lets you sync your Google Chrome bookmarks in real-time using your Google account.

This feature will turn up in next development version of Google Chrome which is expected to launch with next two weeks.

No need mention that there are lots of plugins available for Firefox which makes bookmarks sync possible but this built-in functionality in Google Chrome will definitely let people think over again on their default browser choice.

Search Similar Images in Google Image Search

Google Labs is the experimental lab of famous search engine where user can try new upcoming features which currently are in development stage.

Today, Google has launched a new feature in their labs with the name “Similar Images”. Similar images is an upcoming feature for Google image search which can recognize images and can lets you search images using pictures instead of words.

Similar Images feature is way to easy to use, just click on the similar images link under the images and it will show up all the similar image results.

In the example above I search for Ronaldo and then first click on the similar image link under Cristiano Ronaldo image and then on Ronaldo Luis Nazário de Lima, so the results are here, it recognizes the faces correctly and bring up results accordingly.

Google has rolled out another interesting feature for its image search engine and that is color filtering. Which will be useful for searching images having specific color.

Now you can filter your images results with your desired colors, however this feature was earlier available there, but to use this feature then you have to add “&imgcolor=color” query at the end of result URL. However now Google has add a drop down menu right besides the “Any Content”.

Though, this feature is not yet available for all Google domains (country based domain) but still you can check it out on Google.com (US domain), example is here.

Google which is the top leading search engine of the world, crawls millions of webpages and receives billions of requests on their servers daily. Have you ever thought or imagine how giant their data centers would be, which can crawl websites across the world and can handle those searching requests made on their search engine?

Few months ago Google add extra life to GMail by adding some cool themes in it. These themes gives your Gmail inbox a refreshing look and feel, however like always some people were not so happy with those pre-loaded 31 themes and would like to create one by them self.

So Its time now to design a customized color theme for your Gmail, Now Gmail enables you to design your own theme by choosing different colors.

To design custom theme Goto Settings -> Themes and click “Choose you own colors”, which will open a new windows from which you can paint your theme in your way and save it when done.

Gmail Now Supports Multiple Inboxes

Another useful feature has been introduced in Gmail Labs named Multiple Inboxes. This feature allows you to divide our Gmail inbox into different side panes.

Using Multiple Inboxes you can split your inbox into multiple panes and can relate them with different labels, draft items, starred items etc.

It is the best lab feature for those who use labels in their email conversations, so that they can have a look on emails relating to that specific label, right in their inbox.

You can activate this feature by going into Settings -> Labs and choose “Enable” right after “Multiple Inboxes”. You can also customize the filter on panes by going into Settings -> Multiple Inboxes.

Though, this feature is gradually rolling out to all the Gmail users, so it is possible that you may not see it right now in your account.

Google has released Google Earth 5.0 with lots of new feature which makes it more useful. Now you can watch how the places looks in past and how did they build, you can also dive-in the oceans right from your desktop and can record your virtual earth journey and share it with your friends and others.

Google Toolbar Brings Chrome Like Speed Dial To Firefox

Most of you would have tried Google Chrome, one the most appealing feature of Chrome is its new tab page which shows thumbnails of most visited pages and recent closed tabs as well as recent bookmarks.

If you like this feature and miss it in your Firefox browser then you would be happy to know that Google itself has solved this problem by releasing “Second Beta” of Google Toolbar 5.

Google Toolbar 5 Second Beta comes with an additional personalized new tab page feature which gives you the same function as in Google Chrome.

This new Google Toolbar release displays you 9 most visited websites, on the starting of new tab along with recent bookmarks and recently closed tabs, by some means if you don’t like this feature then you can also disable it to blank page or your favorite website.

Google also advised that some of tab related extension could be affected with this toolbar feature also it is not compatible with Firefox 2.

t-mobile G2 Leaked Photos

There was a rumor of t-mobile G2 phone sometime earlier, which gets an update yesterday when Gizmodo shared some of the purportedly leaked images of that t-mobile G2 phone.

If we took those images seriously then this one looks much better then its previous version which was G1.

As long as specification concerned this phone has 3.2 Megapixel camera on its back which is showing in one of those images as well as it has some shiny and glossy look. This second generation phone is much thinner then previous one because it doesn’t have keyboard.

Google’s New Favicon

Almost a year ago in back May, Google came up with a new favicon which replaces their old one with caps “G” in a boxed, with a small “g”. That revamp of favicon was criticized by many users and I personally didn’t like that one too.

This could be the reason that Google has changed its favicon again without any notice, this new favicon have all the colors use in the Google logo, with the same small “g”.

Now let’s see how people react on this new favicon, but my verdict is, this one is not the better either as compared with the first one and I still love that “G”. As that big G also shows their superiority

This new release has many bug fixes and compatibility enhancements as well as some new features. Take a look on some of its major features

Personal HTTP network protocol, previously it uses WinHTTP library.
Form Autocomplete.

How to Update your Google Chrome to 2.0.156.1

Download and run the Google Chrome Channel Chooser.
Click the circle next to “Dev”.
Click Update to save your choice.
Click Close.
In Google Chrome, click the wrench menu and choose “About Google Chrome”.
Click “Update Now” to install the latest Dev channel release.
Restart Google Chrome.

Add Twitter Gadget In Your Gmail Account

Twitter is a great service to get connected with your friends and colleagues and update them about “what are you doing”, it is no less than an addiction. So, making this service more useful I have come up with a great tool which allows you to use Twitter while checking email on Gmail.

As we all know that Gmail has a very good feature called Labs, which adds usability power to your Gmail account by adding various addon features. Today’s trick is regarding to that Gmail labs feature using which you can embed twitter into your Gmail inbox.

How to use Twitter in Gmail:

1.    Go to Settings -> Labs in your Gmail account and Enable “Add any gadget by URL” feature.
2.    Now Go to Settings -> Gadgets
3.    Enter “http://www.twittergadget.com/gadget_gmail.xml” in the URL box and click Add.
4.    It will embed twitter gadget in the left panel of your Gmail
5.    Now login to your twitter account and start using twitter.

Google’s Top 10 Searched Keywords For 2008

Couple of days ago I shared Top 10 Search List for 2008 of Yahoo and Ask while the Google’s only top product search was revealed at that time, but today Google has officially announce its top searched quires. Along with this Google has also released top regional based searched keywords for more then 34 countries.

Google is the biggest search engine on the internet which serves more then millions of searched keywords result daily. So, it is really interesting to know that which keywords ruled the search box all the 366 days (though this was leap year).
