Latest build of redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 is out now which you can use to jailbreak final iOS 4 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (for now). It also supports to enable Multitasking and Background wallpapers which is disabled by Apple.

Here is the step by step guide on How to jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G with redsn0w 0.9.5

  1. Download original iOS 4 firmware for your corresponding device.
  2. Download and Install iTunes 9.2
  3. Download ans Install redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 (MAC | Windows)
  4. Now manually update your iPhone 3G or iPod Touch to iOS 4 using iTunes
  5. Now start redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 and browse the original firmware which you downloaded in step 1
  6. Now select “Install Cydia” and click Next, you can also enable Multitasking and Wallpaper from there if you want
  7. Now make sure your device is both turned off and connect to computer using data cable and click Next
  8. Now follow the instruction carefully provided on the screen which guide you how to put your device in Recovery mode
  9. Now let the redsn0w do it job, on completion your device will restart automatically and there you go with the latest jailbroken iOS 4
