There have been plenty of hacks available to download videos from YouTube but there are very limited for MegaVideo probably it is due to its less popularity as compared to YouTube but personally I do like MegaVideo as well due to its fast streaming and various other features. If you too use MegaVideo very often then here I am sharing 3 ways to download videos from MegaVideo directly.
I would categorize all three ways according to their difficulty level.
Download MegaVideo Video Using GreaseMonkey
For this guide you must first install GreaseMonkey addon for Firefox once you have installed the addon, install this script. After installing the script visit any MegaVideo video page and you will notice “Download” button on bottom right.
Download MegaVideo Videos Using ClipNabber
ClipNabber is another way to download videos from MegaVideo. First open ClipNabber website, now copy your MegaVideo link and paste it there and press “Nab Video!” button next it will ask you to paste video page source code which you can get by opening video page link and choosing “View Source/View Page Source” from right click contextual menu.
After pasting the source code click on “Nab Video!” button, after a bit of processing it will show you Download Link.
Download MegaVideo Videos Using Cache
This one is a bit complex way to download videos, this guide also assume that you are using Firefox. First of all visit MegaVideo link which you want to download and then play it online first completely. Once the video is played completely visit “about:cache” (without quotes) in address bar, on that page under “Disk cache device” click on “List Cache Entries” now hit Ctrl+F (find) and search for “megavideo.com/files/” once you find it click on that link and it will take you to details page, on that page click again on the link and it will prompt you for download. Once download complete locate to that file and change its extension to “.flv” instead of “.part”. You can now play that video in any FLV player.
