Fix 1604, 1602, 1601 Error in iTunes During Custom Firmware Restore
Like this article?
I got plenty of comments from users about getting 1604, 1602, 1601 or 16xx series error at the time of restoring their iPhone/iPod Touch using custom firmware on Windows. So this one is for all those which guide you how to bypass 16x error.

So here is a fix for that error:
1. Download iH8sn0w’s iREB 4.1 Windows
2. Now open iREB 4.1 application
4. Now choose from either Online Mode or Offline Mode (offline mode requires 3.1.2 ipsw)
5. After that you may open iTunes and can restore using custom firmware.

does this work on 3gs?
dtown (October 5th, 2009)
ok i am having problems with my 3gs with the ih8sn0w. it does not have 3gs as an option for one of the phones.

I’m pretty sure that the whole JB 3.1 instruction set here that is offered is ONLY for 2G/3G iPhones. If you’ve attempted with a 3GS, you might have some issues. You probably want to hit the ‘Trackback’ to read the info again. Sorry
