How To Enable Gmail Push Feature on iPhone

The much awaited Gmail Push feature for iPhone has now rolled out to Google sync. Google sync is a synchronization service by Google which previously allows you to only sync your Contacts and Calendars with your iPhone but now they have enabled Gmail aswell.
Google sync now allows you to sync Gmail, Calendars, Contacts or you can choose all of them or just go with your own combination, it’s completely up to on you.

So, now your mail will be synced directly on your iPhone in real-time which will keep you updated. This push feature of Google Sync will only work with iPhone 3.0 and above. If you want to also configure your Gmail or Google Apps account then here is step by step guide for you.
Open Settings from your iPhone and then tap on Mail, Contact, Calendars

Now tap on “Add Account”

Then Select Microsoft Exchange

Now enter your Google Account Info as follow;

Email: (Enter your Gmail email address for e.g. username@gmail.com)
Domain: Leave Blank
Username: (Enter your full Gmail email address for e.g. username@gmail.com)
Password: (Enter your Gmail account password)

Now Tap Next if it will shows you “Unable to Verify Certificate“ dialog then click “Accept”

Now a new field named Server will appear Enter m.google.com there and then tap on Next


Now it will ask you for the services you want to sync.

If you want to delete all the existing Contacts and Calendars on your phone, select the Keep on my iPhone option when prompted.

And there you go now your Google account is completely synced including your Gmail emails and you can access your emails right from iPhone’s native email application.

Note: If you want to configure Google Apps account then enable Google Sync by going into mobile section from your Google Apps account Dashboard.
