Download Google Chrome Themes
September 3, 2008 – 4:45 pm
Google Chrome is awesome and much liked by users because of its fast and minimalist browsing experience. On the other hand its default blue color theme has disappointed some of users, but, there is no more disappointment as I have bring 3 different color themes for Google Chrome.
Note: All these themes doesn’t work with the latest Google Chrome Release & Don’t forget to make backup of default theme file before replacing with new one.

I’m curious: did you decompile the dll or did you build your own? I’m excited to get into theme-generation for Chrome, and I’m just starting to look around at how to start. I found the default.dll file yesterday, but that’s as far as I got.

In the dark theme the close and maximize buttons have some weird borders. Anyways, great work.

The Google Chrome Green Theme pictured here was actually made by me. The one pictured is also an early version that has since been updated.

The Orange and Dark themes also probably came from here:

@Ali nail I have updated post with the destination folder for Windows Vista. Hope so it will solve your problem.

The dark theme is working correctly, the rest of them are just like the default theme. I’m running Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I REALLY want to use the orange theme, but it shows up like the default. I’m installing it into the correct directory with the browser closed, then rebooting and opening the browser, and it’s still default. I’ve also downloaded the file from 3 different sources. What gives?

I have made a theme that works with chrome. How do i upload it?
By Mitchell on Sep 6, 2008
@Mitchell, You can send me your created theme @ mail[at]altafsayani.com and I’ll be pleased to add it here on my blog.

If you’re having a problem with getting the themes to work then you may have a later build than the one he wrote here. i.e. if you have 0.2.149.29 instead of 0.2.149.27 then put it in 0.2.149.29

i keep learning about more and more advantages and features with Chrome, with privacy, for example; now if only they would take care of the browser’s fickle cookie management…

Great themes, I have posted some of these in the themes section on http://www.stickychrome.com
I have listed others including FF themes, dark, light, green, orange, etc… That I have found around the web. Best of luck.

I like your themes! The themes don’t work however with the new Chrome 0.3.154.9 release. Are there already updated versions of the default.dll?

when i pasted the dark theme my google chrome went red and messed up plx help!!!!!
By shaai on Jan 1, 2009
Actually, whenever I swap out the default.dll file for another theme, all I get is the red messed up GUI. Be wise: COPY your default.dll file, rename it, something. Then, when something screws things up, all you have to do is rename the new default.dll something else, and rename the old one back to default.dll.
