Google Maps Now Adds Walking Directions
July 24, 2008 – 5:20 pm
Google announced the addition of a new feature in Google Maps family. An option which will let you view the Walking Directions for a journey at the most 10km (6.2 miles).

It works similarly like as you get direction by car, just enter your origin and destination place and you’ll get the directions for automobile by default, however, by clicking on the Walking link on the upper left pane, next to For Car option, you’ll get directions for walking.
Currently as like Google does with all its new service, this service is also in Beta stage. This service lists itinerary much valid through cutting out the unsafe paths. As Google say:
We don’t always know if a street has a sidewalk, or if there’s actually a special pedestrian bridge for crossing a busy street.
This new feature looks really pretty nifty, and I just hope that Google will make this feature work for all around the world.
