Apple released 2.0 firmware for iPhone and iPod Touch yesterday, The iPhone 2.0 firmware can be downloaded free from iTunes, while to download 2.0 firmware for iPod touch you have to pay $9.95.
But here is a good news for all iPod Touch users, now you can upgrade to 2.0 firmware for free of cost without paying a little penny. Here is how to get 2.0 Firmware for free.

  1. Download iTunes 7.7 from Apple site.
  2. Hold Shift and click Restore.
  3. Select iPod1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw
  4. Enjoy!

    How/where exactly does one do “Hold Shift and click Restore”??????
    No restore menu/choice that I can find anywhere in ITunes 7.7.

    OK, there it is in Itunes when ipod selected. But like other guy, just gives a “an unknown error occurred (1403)”…
